Package: aptly
Version: 0.9.7-1
Severity: important
Tags: stretch

Hi,

Please consider to cherry pick some of the aptly 1.0.0 changes and
backport them into the Debian version.

I noticed the two following of interest:

 * aptly now supports -dbgsym packages while processing aptly repo include.
   - debhelper in stretch will create -dbgsym by default, so it will be
rather unfortunate if we ship tools that do not cope with them
 * .xz compression format is supported for mirrors (index files).
   - The FTP masters want to remove .gz index files post stretch. This fix
would (hopefully) mean that aptly can still mirror the buster archive
     if we drop .xz.

I have not isolated the actual changes, so I cannot comment on whether
they are applicable for a freeze-exception.

Thanks,
~Niels
