This issue should be solved in Debian 9 (MATE 1.16, built against GTK-3).
For Debian 8 (MATE 1.8, built against GTK-2) I unfortunately have to tag
this bug as "won't fix". This issue won't be solved in MATE 1.8, I am sorry.

hi, this sounds like "wount be solved THAT'S ALL" but i guest that jeesie
are the currentl stable, and the behaviour of the panel are not stable.. umm
some one understand that's i taking about?

Yes. Debian stable means it is as stable as we can get it with our man power, it is not perfect, though.

why only GTK3 related? the today behaviour in mate are very unconfortable
and not working!

at least explain why!

The point is that the cause of your error lies in libwnck. This library is not maintained upstream anymore. In Debian, for stable distribution releases, we do fix stuff regularly, if the fixes are not too invasive.

With libwnck(2), this is different, because (a)

  (a) no upstream developer has ever worked on a fix, and will not...
  (b) Debian package maintainers normally don't have time and expertise
to fix upstream code, esp. if the changes are expected to possibly break
other things, require deep testing, etc.
  (c) there is a fix in sight: Debian 9 (to be released in a few
weeks from now), with MATE 1.16 (built against GTK-3 and libwnck3).

Greets,
Mike
