FWIW, this error also occurs on the non-release architectures
hurd-i386 and kfreebsd-i386.  Given the set of architectures involved,
the root cause is likely to be the i386 FPU's use of extra internal
precision.  As such, building with -ffloat-store on those
architectures may help.
