Hello, I seem to have found out a way to reproduce the problem.
1/ Open a file with Kate. 2/ Modify the file. 3/ Save change and keep the file open. 4/ Modify the file with another editor. 5/ Go back to kate. 6/ Tell Kate to reload when it complains that the file's been externally modified. 7/ Modify the file again. 8/ Try to save the file. Kate will raise a segmentation fault before saving the file. Unfortunately that sequence of action is particularly common when working with version-tracked text files.
