package: chktex version: 1.6.3
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to send this report because it involves a conflict with another package--you be the judge! ;-) I've started using the new longlines-mode in the emacs-snapshot package when writing LaTex documents. This mode performs 'traditional' line wrapping by putting 'soft breaks' at the end of every line as appropriate. When the buffer is written to file the soft breaks are stripped. This means that a saved buffer will have different line numbering to its associated file. So when I use chktex -v3 to check my work the line numbers returned don't correlate with the buffer. I don't know how easy (or desirable) it would be to hack chktex to get around this, but I'd be satisfied with a note in the docs somewhere explaining the problem, and that chktex needs to be run on either the buffer (via the auctex menu) or to turn longlines-mode off before debugging. (Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense--it's 7:00 am Sunday morning and I think it shows!) Cameron Horsburgh -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
