Under GNOME (Wayland), running i3lock works okay until you hit the MENU key (the one that shows all the windows spread out and small, but with all their glorious content clearly visible albeit dinky) at which point one can look at what's displayed in the windows, or kill a window, or even pull down a menu and pick something naughty.
