Just for the record: the FTBFS problem has been fixed by the recent 0.3.0-8 upload of smilutils, but even though I did rerun libtool and friends I still get a package depending on libfreetype6. Since I'm not exactly a guru when it comes to libtool black magic, I'll welcome any help on that point.
