pqiv has had a pqiv.desktop file since https://github.com/phillipberndt/pqiv/issues/73 was implemented. However, the pqiv on debian stable does not include said pqiv.desktop in /usr/share/applications. This means that it is impossible to open images in pqiv via xdg-open. Expected results: apt install pqiv places a pqiv.desktop file in /usr/share/applications Actual results: no pqiv.desktop file is placed in /usr/share/applications I don't know enough about debian packaging, if I did, I would have submitted a patch myself to fix this. if you run a 'make install' of pqiv, it places a pqiv.desktop file in the correct location.
