Hello Peter. I don´t include your mail address as Cc as… as its pointless cause your MTA still refuses mail. As you reported the bug I bet you receive a copy of it.
I received the following via private mail: > I've just stumbled across > https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=872321 . > > It's well known that unit selection is in reverse (see > https://github.com/axboe/fio/issues/103 and > https://www.spinics.net/lists/fio/msg05311.html) but it if you want to > use a "correct" mode you can change the kb_base option. So you are basically asking me to divert from upstream default, break all the included examples unless I patch them up to and break a lot of existing scripts, cause upstream doesn´t dare to? That´s cross. Especially as it has been that way for… a long time. What do you expect me to answer to bug reports aka "my script broke cause of your decision to change the upstream default behavior of fio"? I will ponder over this some more… but I think it may be more suitable to just add a NEWS.Debian entry to warn about this broken upstream default. Actually I may prefer this: k = KiB (1024), kb = KB (1000), kib = KiB (1024) so at least something like blocksize=4k wouldn´t break.
