Hello, I experienced the same problem after upgrading lirc from v0.9.4c-9 to v0.10.0-2. The following set of related packages is installed on my system: # dpkg -l | grep -E "(systemd|sysv)" | cut -c 1-60 ii libsystemd0 234-2.3 ii systemd-shim 10-3 ii sysv-rc 2.88dsf-59.9 ii sysvinit-core 2.88dsf-59.9 ii sysvinit-utils 2.88dsf-59.9 "systemd-tmpfiles" is part of the "systemd" package (not installed). It looks like it would be sufficient to guard the content of the (systemd-related) postinst script with a check for the existence of "/bin/systemd-tmpfiles". Thank you! Cheers, Lars
