Augh! I just learned that apt-get dist-upgrade will upgrade my emacs,
where apt-get upgrade will not. You learn something new every day ;-).
After the upgrade, the problem was gone.
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/emacs-21.2
Starting emacs and running M-x ispell yields the error
Invalid regexp: "Invalid range end"
in the minibuffer. No spelling is done. Changing the dictionary
to british cures the problem, changing back to nederlands8 brings
back the error (upon the first attempt to check anything).
I suspect the regular expression routines can't handle the accented
characters found in the Dutch dictionary. If so, french should have
the same problem.
I have ispell 3.1.20.0-4 and idutch 0.1e-35.
Just noticed
[idutch: emacs integration broken]
http://bugs.debian.org/296734
with exactly the same problem that was reported against 0.1e-32 and
fixed in 0.1e-35, the version you mention. Please doublecheck
the idutch version you have installed.
Yeah, that was probably it. Sorry it was a dup.
Thanks,
