* What led up to the situation? I think migrating from GNOME to KDE may have done this but I can't remember. I installed Debian with GNOME by default and then installed KDE separately using the instructions on the Debian wiki: https://wiki.debian.org/KDE. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I started typing a few characters and noticed that the first entry of pinyin is shown in black (but the rest are ok). * What was the outcome of this action?
