Source: python-cryptography
Severity: wishlist

Hello Tristan,

a new version 2.0.3 is available and adds a feature group (authenticated
encryption with additional data, AEAD) that is required for future
versions of the python3-aiocoap package (which I'm upstream of) that
will depend on python3-cryptography (>= 2) in its next release.

I've built python-cryptography-vectors and python-cryptography with the
uscan'd upstream tarballs, and all built well (though not tested in a
minimal environment yet), build tests passed, and the resulting package
is suitable for using the new feature (tested on Python 3.5 and Python
3.6). I did not have to change anything about the package short of the
version numbers in the changelog and the versioned build dependencies on
python-cryptography-vectors.

The only breaking change from the 2.0 announcement is dropped support for
Python 3.3 which should not be an issue in Debian anyway.

Please consider uploading a new version of the package.

Best regards
chrysn
