I definitively think the bug is not related only to evince but to something else (seems to be Gnome Shell).
The troubles encountered are the same at least with gedit and eog. I tried to reproduce it when starting a session with mate-desktop instead of Gnome and am not able to do so. Everything went fine (key are correctly mapped). -- Bruno BEAUFILS
