can you provide the stack trace of the kernel panic? Also, if you remove all the synaptics driver stuff from xorg.conf then X works correctly? I'm aware of some problems about X crashing because of some video card incompatibility but the synaptics driver is not that invasive. thanks -- mattia :wq!
