Package: vim Version: 1:6.3-061+1 Severity: normal If I have a mapping like so:
map ,= 1G=G'' and I call it on an unmodifiable buffer (eg, the "help" buffer) then I could be up for having to press Enter (to acknowledge the resulting error msg) over 6000 times (the help page I brought up was over 6000 lines long) before I regain control of vim. All keypresses seem to act as Enter, so one cannot cancel, close the buffer, or even exit vim. I would prefer to have some way of telling vim "dang, that was a mistake, abort it all" that only prompts for acknowledgement once :) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11-rc4-ck1 Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages vim depends on: ii dpkg 1.10.27 Package maintenance system for Deb ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgpmg1 1.19.6-19 General Purpose Mouse - shared lib ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii vim-common 1:6.3-061+1 Vi IMproved - Common files -- no debconf information -- Matt
