Package: macchanger
Version: 1.7.0-5.3+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

when macchanger is installed, I can not configure my network devices from
/etc/network/interfaces.

I have two devices, eth0 and wlan0. The second one (wlan0) can be completely
disabled by unloading the
kernel module (which is ath9k) and shutting down the interface (ifconfig wlan0
down).

When I want to configure eth0 with the command "/etc/init.d/networking restart"
or doing "ifconfig eth0 down && ifconfig eth0 up",
the interface is not configured.

To clear things, see the output:

/etc/init.d/networking restart
[....] Restarting networking (via systemctl): networking.serviceJob for
networking.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status networking.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
 failed!

And this is the log:

● networking.service - Raise network interfaces

preset: enabled)

I am not sure, what exactly is the reason, hope you can enlighten me.

Best regards
