Package: postfix
Version: 3.1.6-0+deb9u1
Severity: important

Hi,

While upgrading from Debian 8 to Debian 9/stretch. We've got postfix
2.11.3-1+deb8u2 installed.
This is what happens now:

root@pacioli:~# aptitude -V full-upgrade

The following packages will be upgraded:
  postfix [2.11.3-1+deb8u2 -> 3.1.6-0+deb9u1]
The following partially installed packages will be configured:
  python-support
1 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B/1,435 kB of archives. After unpacking 356 kB will be used.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?]

root@pacioli:~#

The fact no other message than "aborting postfix install" is displayed is
unhelpful.
This failing might be related to my debconf state; I have in
/var/cache/debconf/config.dat :

Name: postfix/compat_conversion_warning
Template: postfix/compat_conversion_warning
Value: false
Owners: postfix
Flags: seen

Name: postfix/main_mailer_type
Template: postfix/main_mailer_type
Value: No configuration
Owners: postfix
Flags: seen

All other postfix-related settings don't have any Value-field.

Thanks, Bye,

Joost
