Hello Max, I am well aware of the development version 2.2.9 and the new feature it offers given I have contributed to a large number of them. The precompiled version for Windows is based on the development version because the stable will not build under cygwin. However, I don't feel that 2.2.9 is suitable for Debian: this version has several nasty bugs. For example: ? isprime(798125329,2) %1 = 0 (should be 1 since 798125329 is prime). Also, being a development snapshot, both the API and the ABI will change in the next release, which does not make it suitable for use as a shared library. Given that, I am not keen to push that version to the next Debian stable release (due soon), which will be the case if I upload it to unstable now. However, at some point, I might consider to package separatly the CVS version as a snapshot.
