Your words have made me rethink and also let me re-read the policy part
5.6.12.

And yes, you are right as the version in the changelog is referring to
the version of the binary packages and these are all the same as before.
So yes, we still need the epoch here of course.

We want to remove the transitional packages for buster, not in stretch
or jessie (and wheezy too of course).
Do I've something overseen here? Currently I haven't anything in mind
that would really prevent us from removing the transitional packages in
buster.
