Package: git-email
Version: 1:2.14.2-1
Severity: wishlist

Sometimes i use "git send-email --dry-run" to make sure i know what
it's going to do.

sometimes, i accidentally combine it with --compose.

in that situation, i'm presented with a message for composition, but
when i save it and complete, my message composition is lost. :(

it's PEBKAC for sure, but "git send-email" could be nicer about it, in
(at least) one of two ways:

 * when --dry-run and --send-email are used together, the composition
template could clearly say that this is a dry-run and will not be
   sent.

 * it could save the composed message in a well-known place within
.git/ so that it can be recovered.

I recognize that this is most likely an upstream wishlist bug -- feel
free to forward it to the appropriate location. I'm all out of time
for this today, since i have to go re-write my cover letter again now
:(
