Package: amavisd-milter Version: 1.5.0-5 Severity: minor Dear Maintainer,
using /etc/default/amavisd-milter you can use i.e. MILTERSOCKETOWNER="postfix:postfix" MILTERSOCKETMODE="0660" to set the permissions for the created socket file. If you want to use this together with the default socket location (MILTERSOCKET not explicitly set) those instructions will be silently ignored and the socket file will be created using default values (755, amavis:amavis). You have to set MILTERSOCKET to the default value to get those settings working. Maybe we can add a small hint to the comment section at /etc/default/amavisd-milter? Example: "# Set these two options if you want the socket to have # special permissions (usefull mainly for postfix). # Additionally you have to uncomment MILTERSOCKET= in this file # even if you want to use the default socket location" Maybe this is a "special" use case but I think sooner or later somebody else will stumble across this, too.
