thanks for addressing this bug. But will this fix be backported to stable? I haven't seen an update in the proposed-updates queue yet. However, given that this issue affects the core functionality of the package, I'm inclined to think that a backport to stable is warranted.
Well, that was not really planned on my side as I don't have machines running stable to test the patch
