Indeed, disabling thunderbird's AppArmor profile with sudo aa-disable /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.thunderbird fixed this issue for me, didn't even need to restart thunderbird. :) -- Earthling Michel Dänzer | http://www.amd.com Libre software enthusiast | Mesa and X developer
