There wasn't, other than the fact that this was bound to happen eventually, due to the Qt4 removal in Debian, see your own #874996 "[ktikz] Future Qt4 removal from Buster". However Poppler upstream decided it was time to do it, so it's going to happen a bit earlier than I expected. Cheers, Emilio
