Package: flashplugin-nonfree
Version: 1:3.7
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

The Debian packaging of gnupg has changed significantly, in that gnupg
is now a metapackage pulling in the whole gpg suite. However it is my
understanding that the current implementation of flashplugin-nonfree
only uses basic gpg verification functionality, and depending on the
whole suite with its several services is inappropriate.

If you release an updated version of the flashplugin-nonfree package
based on the same design as currently, please adjust the dependency to
the gpg package only instead of gnupg.

And regardless of the current situation with the flashplugin-nonfree
package, it would be nice to release without waiting a new version
keeping up with the new dependencies. Many users - including me - will
suspect that uninstalling the package will break their still currently
working flash setup, and will be reluctant to do it to fix the gnupg
dependency issue.

Alternatively, please release a new version which, for now and until
someone steps up to revive the package, disables the dead code and these
dependencies and allows users a smooth way forward without fearing to
break their setup or interfere with the management provided by the
package.

Best regards,
