As I read the 9 year old BTS: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=481223 * Upstream is not willing to add another feature. * DD proposed workaround for the package user * Adding a feature for the Debian package only by user request when DD doesn't feel like maintaining such feature is bad idea. I am marking this bug as above to keep it away from my BUG radar screen while keeping this bug for some people facing the same use case to find the workaround. Osamu
