Yes, they are different. The ibus-1.15.14 tarball has ./autogen.sh run for you. The other one is automatically generated by GitHub and only includes the files that were checked in to git. I suppose it's fine to use the tarball you are using. If upstream would switch to a build system like meson, they wouldn't need to worry about ./autogen.sh or ./configure and the tarball should be equal to what's in git. > Unless those are bad, I thought having old tars are OK. pristine-tar is good. My next input method related task is to try to get that gtk2 thing we did applied to the other gtk2 input method modules. I could maybe join pkg-ime but I don't really intend to take over maintenance for any of these packages.
