Package: libruby1.8 Version: 1.8.2-7sarge2 Severity: normal
The 12.5.5 package contains a flaw in the XML parser that causes many wsdl documents to fail to be parsed. The bug is fixed in the latest upstream snapshot dates 2006-12-05. During the parsing of PayPal's PayPalSvc.wsdl, complexdatatype will trigger a "method unknown" when looking for parent.defaultdatatype. I was able to eliminate the bug by installing the latest snapshot from the upstream library repository. No significant side effects were witnessed after the upgrade, however I did not fully test the library after installing the vendor's version. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686-smp Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages libruby1.8 depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4.sarge.2 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
