Hi Michael; Thanks for the report. There's some work in progress upstream on allowing separate database and mail paths. http://notmuch.198994.n3.nabble.com/PATCH-WIP-support-XDG-database-directory-td4039047.html I can't really predict an ETA at this point, it's still at the design stage.
