Package: dnsutils Version: 1:9.11.2+dfsg-5 Severity: wishlist The dig(1) manpage indicates that the DNSSEC functionality of dig is deprecated and recommends delv instead. However, delv is not included in the dnsutils package, instead living in the bind9 package. Since most users of dnsutils will not have bind9 installed, this makes it hard to transition use away from dig to delv as recommended.
Could you please ship delv in the dnsutils package instead? -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-5-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages dnsutils depends on: ii bind9-host [host] 1:9.11.2+dfsg-5 ii libbind9-160 1:9.11.2+dfsg-5 ii libc6 2.26-4 ii libcap2 1:2.25-1.2 ii libcomerr2 1.43.8-2 ii libdns169 1:9.11.2+dfsg-5 ii libgeoip1 1.6.11-3 ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.15.2-2 ii libisc166 1:9.11.2+dfsg-5 ii libisccfg160 1:9.11.2+dfsg-5 ii libjson-c3 0.12.1-1.2 ii libk5crypto3 1.15.2-2 ii libkrb5-3 1.15.2-2 ii liblwres160 1:9.11.2+dfsg-5 ii libssl1.1 1.1.0g-2 ii libxml2 2.9.4+dfsg1-6.1 dnsutils recommends no packages.
