Hmm. Synaptic reports 4 locally installed gstreamer packages: gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 gstreamer0.10-plugins-base libgstreamer0.10-0 libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10 I suspect these are left over from when the system was upgraded from Jessie to Stretch. I've removed the packages and will report back if any new core files appear. thanks, mike
