PKCS#11 smart card library in unstable/testing/stable is from 2011 (0.7.3-4). The current upstream version (0.9.0) incorporates a lot of changes and fixes necessary to inter-operate with gnupg >=2.1.19. Would it be possible to get an update? According to the changelog, there are some steps to pay attention to, serial card number will change. See http://gnupg-pkcs11.sourceforge.net/changelog.html for details.
