Viewing the /report page and copying its suggested apt config.

apt update

   * What was the outcome of this action?

"E: Syntax error /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/80nick:4: Extra junk at end of
file"

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

An apt update.

Attached is a patch that worked for me, HTH.
