Yes, about every 5 minutes with a large slideshow collection too. However,
if I sit on KSysGuard I can see the memory usage creeping up after Plasma
has been started, probably before any image has actually changed.

Also, I have the same configuration and pretty much exactly the same
wallpaper collection on my desktop computer and I don't have a memory leak
there.

I have since also determined that my desktop computer suffers from the same
issue. At one point it may be using as little as a couple hundred
megabytes, and then later on, not necessarily many hours apart, it'll be
well on its way to 2 gigabytes of RAM being consumed. It seems to be pretty
much random how much it grows except that it tends to definitely grow over
time. Logging out and logging in again from KDE resets the memory usage.
