Package: fai-server Version: 5.3.6 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
Some services (e.g. 389-ds -> setup-ds) require running Systemd services for their configuration. As FAI is using SysVinit and chroot, it is currently only possible to configure these services by using the dirty workaround of a script run on the machine's first bootup. This is even less appealing when there are dependencies of other classes on a class configuring such a service. When using "systemd-sysv" instead of "sysvinit-core" for the NFSROOT, the system resets before successfully starting the installer. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.3 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-6-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages fai-server depends on: ii debootstrap 1.0.89 ii fai-client 5.3.6 ii xz-utils 5.2.2-1.2+b1 Versions of packages fai-server recommends: ii isc-dhcp-server 4.3.5-3 ii libproc-daemon-perl 0.23-1 ii nfs-kernel-server 1:1.3.4-2.1 ii openbsd-inetd [inet-superserver] 0.20160825-2 ii openssh-client 1:7.4p1-10+deb9u2 ii openssh-server 1:7.4p1-10+deb9u2 ii tftpd-hpa 5.2+20150808-1+b1 Versions of packages fai-server suggests: ii aptitude 0.8.7-1 ii binutils 2.28-5 pn debmirror <none> pn fai-setup-storage <none> pn grub2 <none> pn perl-tk <none> pn qemu-utils <none> ii reprepro 5.1.1-1 ii squashfs-tools 1:4.3-3+deb9u1 ii xorriso 1.4.6-1+b1 -- Configuration Files: /etc/fai/NFSROOT changed [not included] -- no debconf information
