There is plenty of response in both bug reports. And on 7 Aug 2012, Emmet Hikory stated " Otherwise, it is my intent to change the package relationships in jessie such that libwildmidi1 suggests, rather than depending on libwildmidi-config, and both wildmidi and libwildmidi-dev Recommend: libwildmidi-config (the former so that users who install the binary tool will have a working configuration, and the latter so that any runtime test code that exercises a gstreamer pipeline will work rather than reporting failure to initialise). Users upgrading from " The mere fact that this _intent_ has not been imlemented for five years now doesn't mean that the issue is not relevant anymore! > to close the bug in one month if no one objects. Giving people another month to come up with a solution five years after stating an intent that has not been implemented sounds somehow cynic to me. Apart from this, giving the availability of a Ubuntu minimal install as the rationale for closing a bug in Debian might be considered questionable. Cheers, - Fabian
