Things are getting better now, upstream gf-complete now supports runtime SIMD detection, http://lab.jerasure.org/jerasure/gf-complete/commit/4339569f14c95a8895a347845f8ed6e18b345ace And ceph since 11.0.1 replies on this feature, and removed the multiple versions jerasure for different CPU. https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/11086 The legacy .so names(libec_jerasure_xx.so) are still there for compatibility. But they just give warning and use the runtime detection one. Now we're preparing Ceph 12.x release, I suggest we unbundle it again. For gf-complete, since upstream doesn't have a tag for the new version, I'll ask the maintainers to bump to a snapshot(so CC zigo here).
