Package: ayatana-indicator-application Version: 0.5.2-1~bpo9+1 Severity: normal
If ayatana-indicator-application is installed from stretch-backports, some applications (Remmina, Blink) whose tray icons would otherwise work under Xfce no longer appear. To reproduce, in detail: - On a fresh stretch install, log into an Xfce desktop, enable backports, and install remmina. (Assuming Install-Recommends is left on, this pulls in ayatana-indicator-application.) - Without logging out, start remmina. Observe that it has a tray icon. - Now log out, log back in, and start remmina again. Observe that the tray icon is gone. - killall ayatana-indicator-application-service and restart remmina. Observe that the tray icon is back. Affected applications (that I know of): - Remmina (as used in the reproducer procedure) - blink-qt (http://icanblink.com/, not in Debian) xfce4-indicator-plugin (from stretch) does not seem to help. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.4 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-6-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages ayatana-indicator-application depends on: ii ayatana-indicator-common 0.6.1-1~bpo9+1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.22.0-1 ii libayatana-appindicator3-1 0.5.2-1~bpo9+1 ii libayatana-indicator3-7 0.6.1-1~bpo9+1 ii libc6 2.24-11+deb9u3 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.14.8-1 ii libcairo2 1.14.8-1 ii libdbus-1-3 1.10.26-0+deb9u1 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.108-2 ii libdbusmenu-glib4 12.10.2-2 ii libdbusmenu-gtk3-4 12.10.2-2 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.36.5-2+deb9u2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.50.3-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.22.11-1 ii libjson-glib-1.0-0 1.2.6-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.40.5-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.40.5-1 ayatana-indicator-application recommends no packages. ayatana-indicator-application suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
