Same thing now happens even on x86 with ebtables:i386=2.0.10.4-5 and linux-image-4.16.0-2-amd64=4.16.12-1. (Fortunately nothing depends on the i386 version of ebtables so apt install ebtables:amd64 fixed this for me, even though most of the system is still i386.) -- Tomáš Janoušek, a.k.a. Pivník, a.k.a.
