Indeed.

But we have a few things we need to finish up first.

We're in the process of unversioning the emacs packages[1], and the
first set (emacs, emacs-non-dfsg, and emcsen-common) has been uploaded
to experimental.

I imagine it'll take some time to resolve issues that has created with
various add-on packages (which expected the "emacs" flavor to be a
metaflavor), but once that's settled down (guessing some number of
weeks), I'll transfer the packages to unstable. and start merging (and
dfsg splitting) 26.1.
