Package: postfix
Version: 3.3.0-1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

when updating the german po file, I found some points in the English
messages that could be expressed more clear, more precise.

See the file attached and
also thread
https://lists.debian.org/debian-l10n-english/2018/08/msg00000.html

Best regards
Markus

s

The master.cf file still references the symlink to an lmtp binary
which is dropped in this upgrade (it was merged with the smtp binary long ago).

Does debconf really use another font for words between underscores? Is it

My alternative:
Please specify the limit that Postfix should place on mailbox files
(mbox-formatted files) to prevent data losses caused by software
errors. A value of zero (0) means no limit. The authors of postfix set
  51200000 as default.

Alternative by Justin:
Please specify the size limit that Postfix should place on mailbox
  files in mbox format
but pay attention to his remark
Do we know that it's about preventing loss of data rather
than avoiding filling the filesystem? If so, it's "data-loss",
  not "data losses".

#From my point of view, "runaway software errors" needs to be explained
#or replaced by a something commonly understood.

#REMARK
#"as root" is highly confusing because one might think that the postfix
#daemon is run by root. Apparently, the phrase refers to mails that
#root shall recieve. Therefore

s
/Mail is not delivered to external delivery agents as root.
/Mail for root is not passed to external delivery agents.
