I open two existing audio CD projects from the command line
('k3b cdrw1.k3b cdrw2.k3b').

k3b seems to start grabbing keyboard focus and raising itself a second or
two after starting up. It doesn't ever stop until killed (which is sometimes
complicated because it obscures its own Save/Discard/Cancel dialogs in some
window managers).

The status bar says "Opening File..." but there doesn't seem to be any
legitimate work for it to do. strace and ltrace indicate that k3b is
in a loop doing a number of tasks, one of which is re-reading the .k3b
input files every second.

If I try to close the project files individually, they simply open again.

If I start k3b without command-line arguments, then open the files,
there seem to be no problems.

Hmmm, maybe I'm on to something here...if I start k3b with *one*
command-line argument ('k3b cdrw1.k3b') then it all works properly.
The breakage starts when I add the second command-line argument.

I have the problem with Sawfish (Version: 1:1.3+cvs20050709-6), metacity
(Version: 1:2.8.8-1) and kwin (Version: 4:3.5.1-1). If it works with
*any* window manager, I'd expect it to work with kwin. ;-)

I do not have the problem with twm (Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1),
but I suspect twm blithely ignores focus messages from applications.
