I'm trying to reproduce this, but I fail to see the behaviour you're describing. With xen xen-hypervisor-4.8 and the xl stack, even when I see the pygrub menu, I do *not* see any /dev/xvd* devices in the dom0. Can you please recheck that this is still an active problem in unstable (or testing)? Otherwise I'm inclined to close this bug soon-ish. Thanks, Chris
