BTW, I was confused because firefox has: Recommends: libavcodec58 | libavcodec57 | libavcodec56 | libavcodec55 | libavcodec54 | libavcodec53 and I thought that this list applied to firefox-esr, but actually it did not have such a Recommends line (which was unexpected). > > Something I cannot do because it no longer support session management > > extensions. :( > > Yeah it's unfortunate those extensions don't work anymore. > > This is the upstream commit if you want to try backporting it yourself, > however doing that will create a lot of work for you during updates etc. > https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/573a198b7fdf Yes, too much work. But since libavcodec57 is co-installable (and I hope it will remain this way at least in the near future), I think that it is easier to stick to it. And at the same time, I could switch to firefox-esr from strech, allowing me to get security updates: Package: firefox-esr Pin: release n=stretch Pin-Priority: 900 Again, I hope that there will be no conflicts in the near future. -- Vincent Lefèvre <vinc...@vinc17.net> - Web: <https://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <https://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / AriC project (LIP, ENS-Lyon)
