Package: bitcoin-qt
Version: 0.16.2~dfsg-1
Severity: normal

Hi Maintainers,

I have no definitive proof that bitcoin-qt is causing this, but I do
suspect it, due to the contents of one of the files commonly created.
Both files are difficult to inspect via the command line, due to invalid
encoding on the filenames themselves. They can be copied and renamed in
a GUI file manager.

One file is commonly text/plain, and contains information such as:

<timestamp> net thread exit
<timestamp> ERROR: Error while reading proxy response
<timestamp> opencon thread exit
<timestamp> msghand thread exit

The other file is model/x.stl-binary. Running `file` on a copy of this
yields data. It is less than 5MiB. Inspecting the file with hd (or
hexdump) yields a look-and-feel of random data... Maybe it is
blockchain information?

If this is not reproducible, feel free to close the report.

I am currently running with all packages from Debian unstable.

Thank you,

Jerad Simpson
