Package: wget
Version: 1.19.5-1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

wget depends on zlib, but doesn’t declare that dependency in its
build-dependencies; it gets zlib via libgnutls28-dev. As a result, the
Ubuntu package, which drops libgnutls28-dev, also ends up losing
zlib1g-dev and compression support.

Please consider adding zlib1g-dev to the build-dependencies — not to
fix the Ubuntu issue, since that’s an Ubuntu problem, but to make the
build-dependencies match wget’s real requirements.

Regards,

Stephen
