I am pretty sure that I used the appstreamcli tool to validate the
appstream file and it didn't show any errors back then. At the moment

https://appstream.debian.org/sid/main/issues/freecol.html

shows only warnings. Why are they fatal? In my opinion GNOME Software
app should fallback to the desktop file if it encounters any serious
issues. At least the icon would show up this way.

When I run

appstreamcli validate /usr/share/metainfo/freecol.appdata.xml in Buster,
I get four errors and one warning now. Even the reverse domain-name is
an error...

I accept patches to fix this.
