it's mostly easy to get information about the usage of strace, take a search engine of your choice. :P Using strace is basicly really simple. $ strace /path/to/binary And like always a look into the man page will give useful hints: $ man strace > Tell us if you need some more test. I'm not sure if I can do something useful by these various information in the end. For me this all looks currently like an upstream issue and this needs to be reported to the Mozilla bugtracker. I'm obviously not the correct person to do this as I'd be always a man in the middle, but I can try to help to puzzle out the important things before starting a new bug report on the Mozilla Bugtracker. My time to dig into this issue (and others) in a full fashion is also to limited. I try to take care on reported issues, but I can't fixed them all. So I'm happy if people try to learn something and helping themself by just doing some research on their own. Has someone tried to find similar bug reports in the bugtracker of Mozilla. If there is really a problem with the implementation of the POP protocol there are for sure more people affected. Regards Carsten
