Steps were: - install from 9.5.0-netinst ISO with basic packages option - change sources.list to point to sid and dist-upgrade - install xorg wdm awesome thunderbird-l10n-en-gb lightning There is no longer any debconf error below (sending this from the VM) but no useful information unfortunately. I have looked in my config editor and there is no settings that match "extensions.installedDistroAddon".
